Ken Kesey, who wrote "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest had gotten his LSD from the experiment sponsored by the CIA. The lyricist for The Grateful Dead, Robert Hunter also got it from the program. Even a poet, Robert Ginsberg, expounded on the value and personal adventure of LSD. Whitey Bulger, a convicted crime boss, was part of a prison program he had been told was an experiment aimed at finding a cure for schizophrenia. He was given LSD for over a year and he later found out this program was actually to see what the long-term effects of this drug might be.
