I was reading a post about food from @Janet357, and got into quite a conversation with @DaddyEvil, that made me think of this thing that happened with my first husband way back in '64. Bud really loved my biscuits made from scratch and he insisted on 3 meals a day. We was very poor just starting out, so I had to cook those 3 meals mostly from scratch. Bright and early on a Saturday morning he wakes me to go fix some biscuits It was cold and I wanted to sleep in for once under the covers but he wouldn't have it. He practically kicked me out of bed. I was so mad ! While kneading the dough I really punched it good while cussing under my breath. I made biscuits so good that the man could eat them with nothing else on the menu I hollered at him when they were done and threw the pan and margarine on the table and figured the way I had thrown them together, he would think twice about making me get up and do this again so early when he didn't even have to go to work. I'll show him they are going to be awful. Well he proceeded to gulp them down like it was his first food in days. Kept saying " mmmm ! This is the best you ever made yet." (I was known for my biscuit making) It was the only thing according to him I cooked better then his mom. Have you ever done something in anger and have it back fire on you like that? Is there a particular dish you make better then anyone else you know? photo is of my youngest when he was angry that we put him on Santas lap to take a photo and my daughter here back in ' 80. Have to do a post on that one some day.

My mom could do that. Most people don't like that bitter taste but mom knew how to cook that out and added gravy too. I could only eat hers.

So you still had to make biscuits three times a day? I wish I could make good biscuits now that they'd have to be gluten free.

@bunnybon7 Gluten free just means no wheat or white flour. It has to be flour from a different kind of grain like rice, sorghum, or tapioca. I haven't found any GF bread that isn't terrible, but I've learned to cook rather well for other foods.

He was at times but I was young (16 yrs) when I met him and very unhappy at home so ran off to marry him after only 4 months knowing him. I practically worshiped the ground he walked on so I put up with it for 10 yrs. before I came to my senses.

Cute photo. I make the best deviled eggs my husband has ever had; and he also likes my spaghetti sauce the best.
