Candle Maintenance

Whether a long time candle lover or just newly starting to use them you will be happier with your candle usage if you follow a few maintenance habits: * The wick of a candle should be trimmed before using each time. About a 1/4 to even 1/8 is enough. Nail clippers or scissors are fine to use for this. Wicks kept like this will help the candle, not drip or soot. * Burning should not be for more than about four hours, longer and the wick will mushroom. Beeswax burns about the longest and is devoid of products that are not pure. * The wax needs to completely liquefy(or melt) from one end to the other of the container. Without doing so a tunnel will develop and the wick will go deeper and deeper boring through the center of the candle. You don't want this. The surrounding wax will be wasted and you will have a shorter burn time on the candle. The correct candle maintenance ensures the brightest flames and the longest burns. Thanks for the candle tips. We never burn candles unless there is a power outage.

@celticeagle Plus if I am not in the room with the candle I blow it out so a cat will not knock it over.
