Beside Myself

I have always loved this expression. I have been rather dazzled by it too. At the upper limit of an emotion. Unable to control oneself because of the amount of emotion you are feeling. Distraught or even shocked. Besieged by emotion. Okay, you get the idea. You are a bit emotional. OKay. But, can you imagine being "beside yourself" and not giggling a little? I can't.

I wouldn’t giggle about it. I have been beside myself and it’s a terrible feeling. I once threw every dish in the house out the door and broke every one. It’s completely losing control.

@celticeagle It’s even more frightening to experience it. It’s like you’re outside your body and can’t believe what’s happening.

I am not ashamed to admit, I've been there. It's not the best feeling to feel.

I was really emotional when my first husband was gone. I would never have giggled losing my husband.

Giggling out of nervousness I guess is what I meant.
