Thanks to the efforts of the Liberty-Casey Rescue Squad in Kentucky, a farmer who was working inside of a bin next to his home on Thursday evening had the bad luck of being trapped with soybeans. I am not sure if the farmer whose name was not released to the public called for help or a relative managed to call the firefighters to come to his rescue which took place that same evening. The firefighters from the Liberty-Casey Rescue squad as well as volunteer firefighters from Brush Creek and Liberty used molded plastic tubes around the farmer who had the soybeans around his waist by the time they arrived at the scene of the incident to remove the soybeans so that the farmer could be able to move around freely. The rescue took about three hours. Even though the farmer lost a boot in the incident, he went to get a new pair of boots to resume his work. Thank goodness no one was injured in the accident in the farm on Thursday evening. I am sure that the farmer is grateful that the firefighters were able to use a rescue auger and molded plastic tubes to save him from dying on the job.

Some people have suffocated from being trapped in these bins.

I have heard some of the horror stories of farmers dying in these kinds of accidents on the job.

It was a happy ending since the farmer went back to work after he was rescued by the firefighters.
