2022 Health Journey - Day 34

I think it is the 34th day of the year (well that February 3rd was anyway). So I weighed in and went down to 179. Finally under 180 again! Next goal is to get under 17....and so on. I will take it 10 pounds at a time. What all did I eat today? Well I did have one meal with carbs at the end of the day. It may affect my sugar in the AM, but it didn't seem to hurt me too much 2 hours after. Fasting blood sugar: 102 Meal 1 - 1 serving deli meat and a 2 good yogurt with sugar free chocolate syrup and caramel chips (sugar free too) Blood sugar after: 120 ( I think) Meal 2 - 4 oz or so of cubed steak sugar free BBQ sauce for dipping Followed that with a sugar free "twix" cup Blood sugar after - 104 Meal 3 -- CARB meal -- We went to a fancy dining place for dinner - a steakhouse. I got chicken strips and fries and shared with my son I gave him quite a few fries, and I had more of the chicken., they were breaded some. Blood sugar after - 122; not bad at all (as long as the test strip wasn't messed up) If it is extremely high in the morning then I will think that was wrong. I don't have the macros because I can't really track the meal that we had at the restaurant. How do you think I did? I ate the meal and did not come home and eat anything else that was not on plan, so that is a win I guess.

good job on getting down to 179. I am plateauing around 170 right now. I want to get down to 155.

Thanks, although I am still extremely overweight. Sorry that you are sticking around there at the moment. 155 sounds like a good goal

Congratulations on being under 180. I loved that feeling two years ago.

Well I was under before being hospitalized so took almost a month to get back there. Just can't wait to get closer to 100 LOL. But glad you loved that feeling

Well I am glad to be almost back down to where I was before being hospitalized. I didn't know if I would lose any being put on insulin, but since it is a small dose I am sure that helps.

@MommyOfEli2013 I'm sorry it wasn't a win. Don't get discouraged. You're having more good days than bad.

@just4him It is just frustrating to do well and see my numbers over 100. I probably need to just eat meat, cheese and eggs to get that consistently though

Seeing my number this morning I wouldn't call it a win after all.

All the blood sugar tests look pretty normal, I'd say your plans are working just fine.. going great, actually!

Normally a meal with carbs would spike my blood sugar though. So I was pleased to see it only went up to 122.
