Day 237 Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. (KJV) Every day, you can see how bad people can be. You can read how they spend their time. You tell your children not to act like people you know to be a bad influence on them. You try to control what they watch, their friendships. It doesn’t work. People will rebel against the strict censorship of their lives. How you spend your life is a sacrifice. You will do everything necessary to reach your goals, even sacrificing meaningful relationships, so you can get ahead, reach the top. And then what? What becomes your next sacrifice? It isn’t only bad people who make bad choices and sacrifice their lives. It is anyone who puts their life ahead of God. God calls it an abomination. As Christians, you need to be aware of your sacrifice. Once you accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, you are not free to do what you please. Your life becomes a sacrifice. Your actions will influence others. If they see you doing the same thing they do, they will see no reason to become a Christian. If they see you laying aside the things of this world to devote yourself to God and His will for your life, they might consider your ways, especially when they see God blessing you and the work of your hands. Many people, before they accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, thought they would need to give up everything they love. They looked at all the thou shalt nots in the Bible and thought it would be too hard to be a Christian. Yet God does not require you to give up your life. He only asks you to embrace Him and give Him first place in your life. When you do, He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so, will you dwell in the land, and verily you shalt be fed. 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He will bring it to pass. 6 And He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not yourself in any wise to do evil. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those who wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. When you give your life to Jesus and ask Him to direct it, your sacrifice will not go unnoticed. He will take your gifts and talents and turn them into blessings. You will find delight in serving God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Your delight will be lost on those who don’t know God or Jesus, His Son. They will condemn you, but God will lift you up. Let’s pray: Father, take my life and make it a blessing in Your sight. Let me be a blessing to those You put in my path. Let my life glorify You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 5 February 2022 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay.

The verse , "In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths", has real meaning for me right now. I need direction in a pressing matter.
