Squeezed calamansi ...

Philippines

I bought calamansi from the store days before because I will use it for cooking. At first they were all green and fresh. It became my routine to always place fruits or vegetables in the fridge to keep them fresh . Yesterday , when I searched for the calamansi I saw that some were already rotten. So what I did was , I squeezed the nuice out and put them in a container so that we can still use them. I almost forgot that it will rot after so many days. I have a question , Is there a proper way to store fruits and vegetables ? So that they wont rot or decay easily? Specially if its placed on a fridge?

I would freeze the juice in ice-block containers. Once it's frozen, you can put the blocks in a plastic bag.

I don't put fruit in the fridge but I do put potatoes in there - they seem to last much longer when I do that.

@jaboUK I observed potatoes too , they last long compared to some .The easiest to rot are the green leafy vegetables.
