Do you and your spouse have any Valentines Day traditions?

Hubby and I were married on Valentines Day so it's a double day for us.
And surprisingly there are no cards for a Valentines Day/ Wedding anniversary cards! This surprises me as I believe Valentines Day is one of the number one wedding dates.
Actually i just looked up that info and there are approximately 16,000 people sharing an anniversary with me!!
Now, as far as traditions. Unless Valentines Day follows on a weekend we don't celebrate it on Valentines Day. This weekend we will have a nice dinner out. We don't do the candle light and all that sweet mushy stuff. I'll get him a little present and he will do the same but we have an ongoing ritual of not spending over 20$ on each other.

Congrats on your anniversary, hope you have a great time.
No, me and my husband don't celebrate Valentine's, anniversaries, birthdays etc. Not even the kids' birthdays. We just don't like the idea of waiting on a "special day" and I've always been horrible with gifts (both giving and receiving). The whole concept of celebrations and traditions are not for me.

My husband is the same! But he knows better than to NOT give me a gift. I can throw a temper tantrum that would rival any three year old.
Im a bit more lenient on birthdays and Easter. Birthdays consist of a mom baked cake and a small present and card. Easter, lol, they get a paper bag with a small bag of chips, a coke and candy bar and a toy from the Dollar Store.
Christmas however, is a big deal to me! I tend to overspend and get in debt, but nothing that I can't pay off by February.

My son and DIL were married on Valentine’s Day. There was a huge snow storm that day! Beautiful backdrop for the wedding though.
My husband and I don’t really do anything for Valentine’s Day. I buy him a bag of his favorite candy and he eats them. Lol

My husband and I were engaged for a couple years (we weren't in a big hurry) but one Feb 13, he said "What do you want to do for Valentines Day." And I said, "Lets get married." So, the next day we marched into the court house and did it.
Kentucky is very lax with its marriage requirements.

Wow. That's so nice...in that case, wish you a very happy anniversary in advance. May you both stay happy together forever.
My hubby doesn't believe in celebrating Valentine's, I had planned a surprise on our first valentine's together, hadn't known him that well back then. You can't even imagine my disappointment over his reaction. I don't even want to describe that day. Since then I've just gifted him some chocolates on that day. Because that he loves..
