Hi My lot,
It's true - my birthday was on the first and just now I'm getting around to telling you about it. Ah. I will try to be more active on here. So this was #40 and originally I had been planning a party, but I didn't trust the high amount of Covid cases in my area - planning a party didn't seem like a responsible thing to do, to me, personally.
The weekend before - a small group of friends and I got together and ordered take out and watched movies. Then a different small group
The day of (being a Tuesday) Momma and I went out to a restaurant , and wait wait, I can hear some of you saying, wait, if you didn't have a party, what makes you think a restaurant is safe? Well, taking the day off we were able to go at 3:30 in the afternoon. An unpopular time, so not busy. We went to my favorite Mexican restaurant and I indulged in a large Margarita. As you see in the picture Momma got started drinking hers right away, too. lol! Went to dance practice ... another activity I feel fairly safe with due to not many people and those that are there being vaxxed or having had Covid back in December . The next weekend I went to a pamper event and actually went to a concert. Choose unpopular seats, wore masks. Happily no one sitting close. It was a Roy Orbison tribute - I do love me some Roy. I managed to wear my cute "40" tiara twice, too.
I know some folks will likely admonish me either for taking too many risks, or for taking too few but I did as I felt right and comfortable doing. I took some risks, but carefully calculated ones.
Anyhow, wasn't the big party I had planned but I felt very loved and had fun. That is the best I can hope for. :-)
I know some folks don't celebrate, that's up to the individual, but I always think on it as a wonderful way to celebrate being you , your day :-)

Every time you step out the front door, you're putting your life at risk. Weather it be from COVID, or any number of hazards. I think people tend to think only of COVID, and forget everything else that can happen to a person. If you're not willing to take risks, you're not living.
That being said, you do what you feel is right for you.

You have a good point. There are many risks with life if we stop to think about it. Caution is good, but one cannot stop living either

@RebeccasFarm Thanks, I was going to say to mom - shove your drink over here I'll take a picture of them, since they were "pretty", but she wanted to drink hers right away so that's when I took the photo. She's less than thrilled about the photo, but I think it's hilarious.
Thanks! The part that's showing is a little piece of quartz. I have other charms I usually always wear, too

Happy belated birthday!
I think it’s very kind of you to be responsible and not have a party since cases are higher there.
I love the cute photo!
I love Roy Orbison too! Now I’m signing his songs to the baby it’ll be stuck in my head all day.

So true. You have to do what you think is best or right... everyone chooses differently.
Thanks, it was a nice day :-)
