How Goes Your Saturday?

Mine started out too early in the morning because the missus and I traveled to Raleigh this a.m. for breakfast with our camping club at 8 and then worked the RV show at the fairgrounds from 10 to Noon.
Breakfast was delicious as always when we go to this particular independent diner. I don't know if the owner pays better than most, but she was fully staffed, and the place was busy. There were about a dozen of us from the club in the small events room and we didn't wait long for our meals to be served.
I had a scrambled egg with sausage pattie and a biscuit with red-eye gravy. The missus eyed me suspiciously as this was about 1/2 my usual order when we eat at this restaurant. I reminded her that I'm trying to be more reasonable about the size of my meals.
After breakfast, we went to the fairgrounds, found our club's booth, and got ready for the showgoers to file past. There weren't many for the first hour, but that is normal. During our second hour on duty, the crowd picked up some. We talked to several people and gave out a few info packets. Hopefully, we'll gain some new members.
We left without looking at the new campers. Ours is still in the shop, and with the prices we saw on the few near our booth, a new rig is out of the question right now. Besides, once ours is ready, it'll be all we need. We like it very much.
On the way home, we stopped and did some shopping and had lunch. Lunch did not agree with me and I've been feeling puny since. A short nap this afternoon helped some. I hope I feel better tomorrow as I have lots of writing work to do.
I hope your Saturday was a good one.

It was excellent.
As for the camper, I watched videos from the Tampa RV show, and everyone was aghast at the lack of availability and the prices of what WAS available. I’ll keep sleeping in my car if I need to.

@DWDavis — I’m guessing in two years you’ll be able to buy a three-year-old RV really cheap as people who bought them during covid ditch them.

@FourWalls I predict that you're right. Campsite reservations will also be easier to get.

Supply chain issues and the demand driven by the pandemic for alternatives to hotels have seen an unprecedented rise in prices for RVs. The new, and I believe temporary, popularity of RVing has also caused many of us to start making reservations up to a year or more in advance. Spur of the moment trips are nearly extinct.

Your day sounds good. I have never tried red eyed gravy though I have heard about it alot. What goes in it to make it "red eyed?" Is it tomato based?

@DWDavis never heard the term sawmill gravy, usually I think they just call it country gravy.

I certainly hope you feel much better tomorrow. My Saturday seemed to just disappear, I got busy doing my blogging and before I knew it it was nighttime,

The RV Show was in buildings at the fairgrounds. Folks who are interested in buying a camper for the first time or upgrading their camper or just want to see the campers pass by our booth and we suggest the idea of joining a camping club. If they are interested, we tell them about our club and offer them a packet of info.

I spent most of the day communing with my sewing machine and hoping that I had enough fabric to finish what I wanted to accomplish. I had to get creative with the last 2.5 x 5 inch piece, but I did it!
