Rough Idea of Cooking Swamp Cabbage

Today, I bought two bundles of 'kangkong' or swamp cabbage. At first, I do not have any ideas how to cook it. So I checked the recipe book at home. Then, I finally decided to cook into 'adobong kangkong.' I wish I could show you the meal done. Why? I was so tired of marketing in the public market and then, cooking this meal immediately for lunch. Thus, I forgot to take a photo of it. Do you plot out meals daily? Back in the day, yes. Nowadays, I just take it day by day.

@Shavkat it is hard to think of what to cook on a daily basis.

@allen0187 I can relate to that. For me, it is harder because I am not a pro at cooking.

I must say that I cannot sustain it weekly. We do it daily here with the help of family members who are into cooking.

They look like this if not being cooked. I think it is also available in your country. Image Credit: nutrition-and-you.com

@Shavkat It is also called Chinese watercress so perhaps that is what it's marketed as here.

I don't really plan out daily meals. Most of the time when I go shopping I buy enough to last for a few weeks, devide my meat and put it in the freezer. If I buy fresh vegetables, I will use them first and then use the canned stuf. Most of the time when I get up in the morning, I will think about what I want for supper and then take it out of the freezer.

I am like you but we usually buy raw foods weekly. In my family, we prefer having fresh veggies from the public market. We are trying to spoil foods up as much as possible. One thing is for sure, I love walking around the market as my exercise.

It looks good. I've never had it. Only when it comes time to decide what to eat.

I sometimes ask my family members what they want. Then, we can decide afterward. Thank you.

I have to. Over the past year food prices have gone sky high so l can't afford to waste anything.

I agree with you. I also need to consider the food budget especially now.
