No Manners

Today, I played Bingo and went to the cafe where I use to work. While sitting at the cafe, the owner of the cafe looked at me and said "You look sick". I looked like I did any other day. What made her say this rude remark? Would you claim that she has no manners?

You say you used to work there. Is this the same owner as when you worked there?
Did you leave on bad terms?
Anyone would be considered rude to make a statement like that. Family or close friends are the exceptions.
This woman either is holding a grudge of some sort or she is just rude.
If someone said that I looked sick, I might respond that she looks ugly but my sickness will pass. You're stuck with ugly.

I worked the cafe until my back felt broke in two. I attempted to tell her this but she remarked, "Don't give me excuses. Just tell me you do not want to work". So, I quit. No thirty day notice. Now I am happy working from home as a writer.

Then she has a grudge and is still taking it out on you.
Use my suggestion if she says it again. It may even feel good lol.
