Firefighters and animal care persons rescue a dog trapped in a storm drain

Thanks to a concern citizen who heard a dog barking inside of a storm drain today in San Antonio Texas, members of the San Antonio Animal Care Services with the assistance of the San Antonio Fire Department worked together to free the small male dog named Piccolo from the danger zone. The firefighters assisted the animal care officials after the animal care officials could not remove the drain cover. The firefighters used special equipment to remove the drain cover and send a firefighter down the small pipe and get the dog out of the drain. The dog was then taken to a local veterinarian to be treated for a broken leg. However the dog is excepted to make a full recovery and be placed up for adoption by the animal care officials. I just wonder how the male dog fell into a storm drain. The good news is that the dog was rescued by the firefighters thanks to the pleas of a concerned citizen who cared for the welfare of the dog who needed help.
