Weird Maintenance Situation

We have three cats. The second one is a momma's boy. He has to be trailing behind my daughter constantly. So, if he gets shut out of her bedroom at night he likes to claw the rug and make a stir hoping to get let in. He had made a really bad area in the rug at the doorway because of this habit which we have since taught him not to do any longer.
Maintenance is going to fix the rug(which will cost us $355)
at some point wherein lies a problem. Housing sent a letter to us stating that they would be coming out on a certain date to do this maintenance and to have the area clean and nothing around it. So we did just that.
The maintenance people come out on that date and the room still has furniture in it. I guess housing plans on having the entire rug replaced so we needed to have all the furniture removed. They didn't tell us that.
Now, this morning a guy comes knocking to do the rug, AGAIN.
No appointment.
I was mad.
How embarrassing! How utterly unprofessional of Housing.
I left a message on the maintenance department's phone to please give us notice in the future so we can be ready. (one of the pieces of furniture weighs a ton.)
I get an email from the maintenance rep saying she had told me of the appointment today in a conversation back a week or so ago in a conversation we had. No, she didn't.
I remember the conversation and no appointment was made. I was irate because the other gal who had written the note had said nothing about removing all furniture so they could replace the rug.
She had just said to be sure that the area was clear and had nothing around it. (I thought they were just going to replace the very area, not the entire rug!)
So, today the maintenance rep emailed me with "How odd" and a few other statements
about how she left a notification on our door(which we didn't get) and supplied a new appointment date and time. So, I wrote back immediately confirming this date and thanking her. I do so hope we can get this rug thing done and behind us. We still have the inspection looming.

I wish you luck with that. The way rugs are designed, you can't just replace one section. It's not very cost effective that way. So, yes the entire rug will need replaced.

This rug is so cheap. I have put off getting it cleaned because it is so cheap.

I hate it. They always make out like we are dumb and it was their error.

That would be so nice. Have it all done. Then we just have the inspection on the 21st. So glad when all of it is behind us.

That is very annoying. We've fought the office here for not giving notices too. Unfortunately doesn't help us

No. They are always in the right. I wish we could get away from housing.

How annoying! I hate when they say they told you when they didn't.

I notice that their wording is very similar and wonder if they were in a hurry and thought they had written things they hadn't.
