The "Why" in Your Life

We all have a reason for getting up, doing the chores, running errands, finishing things, doing what we do all day. Right? When things get chaotic and busy we may lose sight of that. That's when we feel negative and stressed. When we have a sense of purpose it makes our lives happier. A reason why we work, do for others, set goals. It gives our life purpose and without that, we are not usually very happy. When we see things are coming together and we are reaching our goals we are happy and have a purpose. So, what is your purpose? For me, it is my kids. I help them and by doing so I have a purpose and feel good about my life and myself. I set bills three months ahead so I know what we can afford and what we can't. I am my daughter's payee and so I can set a little back for her if I know she will need the extra in a month or two. I am helping my grandson with his paperwork in trying to get SSI due to his mental situation. There is a lot of information to draw together and a lot of writing to do. It makes me feel good to do these things for "my kids". What is the "why" in your life?

A sense of purpose gives a person value, in their own eyes. Reaching set goals, another way to feel better about ourselves. Success brings happiness and a positive attitude:) Helping others is a good thing, if the other person is trying hard to move forward.

@celticeagle @kobesbuddy That is a rather Protestant attitude. I'm not a religious person but I know what the Bible says, namely, to have a more relaxed attitude. (Matthew 6, 26) "Do Not Worry 25Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns— and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?…"

I never stopped to think about my motivatation to live and do the things I do. Paying bills are nedded in order to have a place to live, power, water and eletric. If I want the creature comforts I've grown used to, then that means paying for them. I love my pets. So that means doing things needed to care for them. I would much rather live in the moment, then dwell in the past and question what I do.

I have no idea what my why would be. I get up every day and do what I see to be done. I pay my bills and I mind my own business,

God first then my kids and grandkids and siblings. I don't see enough of any of them because of the hours I work. But, one day when I can't retire I'll have more time to spend with them all. Paying bills three months in advance that's awesome. I'm trying to pay mine the weeks early but I'm not there quite yet.

Mine is also my kids and now my grandkids. It's satisfying watching the young people you raised turn into good men and women!
