Instagram?

I am clueless when it comes to Instagram. I do not know the first thing about Instagram. I do know twitter and LinkedIn. I got hacked on Facebook twice.
Anyway...
Last night, I was attempting to fill out an online job application. Of all the stinking requirements, an Instagram account is required!
Would you kindly explain to me how to use this unknown social media to me?
Do I need to have this account on my cellular phone or can I have the account on my laptop? I would much rather prefer having an Instagram account on my laptop.

It's easy to set up an account. Just download the app on your phone, and follow the steps to set up an account! Then start posting photos and videos!
You can view Instagram on a laptop/desktop, but I find it is better designed for using the app on your phone.

I don't use Instagram but I think you can download Instagram app on your phone or go to the website to login on your laptop/desktop as usual. I don't know if it's easier to login and use the app or the website though, so hopefully that part you'll be able to figure it out.

@Spontaneo I've heard people experiencing problems logging in or viewing from apps but no problem on desktop/laptop. You may also need FB account, because ever since FB acquired Instagram, if you have a problem with Instagram, it's FB support that will handle it.
