Learning a new language of a country I've never been.

As a teenage kid I don't get to have the luxury of getting the dress, shoes. Cool stuff.
Always, hand me down from a cousin.
During my 20's I jump from one job to another I had some struggle fitting in. What I do is resign and moved on.
In my mid 30's I got the opportunity to land a job. It's my longest stay in a company. I'm still working for them until I get a freelance job and be a digital nomad.
Recently, I enrolled in a language class to fulfill a dream of acquiring a second Language.
Initially, it's supposed to be mandarin but I missed the enrollment period. I ended up enrolling in Spanish.
It's my 3rd session yesterday. I missed the second session due to work.
I'm not sure if at my age I can still acquire a new language. First because I'm not so young. Second because I wasn't really a bright student when I was still in school.
I know it will be difficult because to begin with I don't know anyone who speaks Spanish.
But, I'd rather try.

While you're taking your classes it might be helpful to watch television or movies with captioning on set to Spanish.
You can read the Spanish dialogue and hear the the meaning in a language you understand.
It would help you become more familiar with the language as you learn more in classes.
It can be more difficult to learn new languages when you get older.

In America, Spanish is nearly required now as well as English.
I wish you good luck learning it.

Knowledge of foreign languages is always something positive. You never know when you're going to need a foreign language.
