A strange police story from New Jersey in getting a bat out of a bedroom

This story is kind of odd from the viewpoint of the Clinton Township Police Department when a 61 year old resident called the police to ask for their help in getting rid of a small bat that was inside of the bedroom of the resident that made the phone call two weekends ago.
A Clinton Township police sergeant who is a hunter and outdoorsman used a wicker basket to enter the bedroom of the resident that made the phone call for help to trap the bat that was clinging to a sill by pinning the bat inside of the basket and then grabs a blanket from the bed to cover the basket to get the bat out of the bedroom safely.
The resident who made the call to the police was grateful that a police officer came to get rid of a bat that was inside of the bedroom since the gender of the person who made the call for help was not mentioned.
This is probably the first time I have shared a story where a police officer had to get a bat out of a bedroom.

I don't know if I would call the police; but I would want that bat out of my bedroom.

I was thinking the same thing. Why call the police to get rid of a bat?

@LindaOHio You are right since a game warden is qualified to deal with bats better than a police officer can.

@Deepizzaguy If I called anyone, it would be an animal warden of some kind.

I have had birds in my home before, but I never had a bat in my home.

@Deepizzaguy I have seen 2 bats up close. Back in the early 80'; one of my cats has caught a couple of bats at different times and brought them home.

That is what bothers how they are being thanked by their enemies just because of a few rotten apples.

I do not like bats myself. I would ask for help too.

Some women are deathly scared of certain creatures in their space -- some men are too l might add. I couldn't understand why a female friend of mine left her apartment and sat with a neighbor until someone removed the lizard camping out in her bedroom.
