It's a sad day for cricket world and cricket lovers. Two legends of cricket world died of heart attack and the sad coincidence is that both come from Australia. Rod Marsh, 74 years old and a legendary figure in the cricket world died of heart attack. The news came in the morning. And just now, I was shocked to see the news of Shane Warne, 52 years old, found unresponsive in his villa in Thailand where he was on vacation. They suspect the cause to be a heart attack Well, I have never seen Marsh in action but have only read and heard about the legend's stories. But when it's Shane Warne, I am sure many of the cricket lovers in current times would find a connection. I was among his fans and this news comes as a shock. Nothing good in the news... devastating war, speculation over the future of the two sides, possibility of a nuclear war, third world war, all propaganda from media and now a speculation over the president of Ukraine fleeing from Ukraine... it's all upsetting. And more sad news from the world of cricket Keeping fingers crossed and praying that all goes well. Keeping all our Ukranian friends here in prayers. Hope all are safe. It's 8 PM and Friday night. No excitement over weekend and Friday amidst all these grim news Leaving you with this picture of my recent art work. It has found a place at the entrance of my home. It replaced the paper quilling artwork that adored this wall before and welcomed guests to our sweet home.. Someone showed an interest in buying that and it's sold. Now with this new one in place, the corner gets a new look and I think it's looking elegant

I posted about Shane Warne before seeing your post but I'm sure it won't matter. However, Rod Marsh was only 74, not 82. My Dad would all the cricket matches from that era. There were exciting games. Your new picture does look really lovely. Congratulations.

@arunima25 That is so sad but you're right. These things can happen incredibly quickly and to people who seem really healthy.

I am sorry Judy that I miscalculated his age, his birth year being 1945. But I just edited the post and made the correction.. He was a legend of his time. What a sad day to loose two legends in different era on the same day from the same country. I am glad that you liked the picture. My daughters feel that the last paper quilled welcome board was better. But I find this one more elegant and happy to have a new look to the corner

@JudyEv I keep doing that often, it breaks the monotony and brings a new look to the house. I can understand and relate to that. Life is uncertain and unexpected. We can't say anything with surety. Young people and healthy ones pass away suddenly and that's shocking. Recently one of my college friend passed away due to massive heart attack. He was very healthy and had no issues. He felt some discomfort in the office and drove himself to the hospital. He had a massive attack in the parking lot and couldn't be saved. His wife could not believe the news.. He left so cheerful and happy in the morning. This happened in 2019 and he was just 41.

Indians are crazy about cricket. It's like a religion that binds the whole nation together

Sorry about this for Cricket fans. I know nothing about the game other than you have a bowler and catcher. I think it is a bit like baseball.

You are so right. I just avoid watching the news as much as possible these days. It's upsetting with all the heartbreaking images. But then it's not possible to totally stay away from it either. I am curious to know how things are going ahead. And each time I switch to a news channel, I pray for some positive news. And I am always disheartened. Art is therapeutic and does cheer us up. Whenever I indulge in any art and craft work, I can sense that my inner healing process is working.

Yes, Cricket is the most popular sports in India and in neighbouring countries. Also Indian cricket team is a strong one in the International level. Cricket is in fact more popular than our national sports Hockey. Many do all this game as a common religion among the diverse population
