I had planned a topic regarding the first test match between India and Sri Lanka. Yet a couple of other news made me change it quite a bit. First the bad news: Recently a former great Australian wicketkeeper -batsman Rodney Marsh expired. Yet more shockingly, another legendary Aussie leg spinner Shane Warne who was often in the news for both good and bad expired after a heart attack. He was just 52! He was active as a cricket expert and even mentor and his demise has shocked everyone. May God bless both their souls. On the good side, Former Indian captain Virat Kohli's 100 th test match got underway yesterday vs Sri Lanka at Mohali, India. He got a little felicitation yesterday morning. As for the match, Kohli did score 45 runs but it was Rishabh Pant's 96 which set the stage for s good 357 for 6 by India at the end of day 1. So that's for now.

Even though I am not familiar with the Rodney Marsh since cricket is not on television in America, dying at the age of 52 is very shocking and sad.

I read about Shane Warne but I don't know about Marsh, Hero of first inning of India is Jadega who secure more than 150.

@anil02 Yes R.Jadeja scored 175 not out, surpassing Kapil Dev's 163 vs Sri Lanka(interestingly the same opponent) in 1986. Plus his second test century.

@anil02 Yes it looked like a highly one sided affair.

As far as I'm aware, Australia is playing Pakistan at the moment. You will have lots of cricket to watch for the next few weeks.

I came to this post to reply to you. And let you know that my cousin Anunya Singh is there in Rajasthan Royals this IPL season. He was a toddler when I got married. Have met him briefly on few visits to my uncle's place. But we kept hearing about his talent and long struggle. Finally the family is happy. Hope he makes good use of the opportunity and luck favours him.

@arunima25 That is a great news! I hope he gets his chances and do well! I might be bringing out some IPL discussions now that the IPL has started. As of now, we are having too many local travels and busy.

@arunima25 Yes and still we as a society favor academic pursuits over others.

@arunima25 Hopefully your suggestions are implemented and good results come out. And at the worst, it would mean a start in a new direction that is good for the students!
