That's cute. I Love my city. I love how clean and colorful my city is. Our city mayor makes sure it's always beautiful.

@oahuwriter trees and flowers and colored painted bridges. We have those. It was started by another mayor and the one who followed made sure that things are all well maintained.

That'll be so beautiful & lively, looking to see! Wish we'd that kind of beautification too. For now, this is a beginning of beautification and hoping for more.

That's good! Ours was super clean, when Mayor Fasi, was mayor. He's in heaven, and no other mayor, has night cleaning, so far. I would love more flowers everywhere too. Without much money, I don't dare speak about it, for can't afford to donate it.

Yes it is! They've got to do more, hopefully. Like planting flowers, cleaning at night, upgrade putting rest stops Statewide...

WHAT???? Honolulu is so naturally beautiful. But yes, there were (when I lived there) some less-than-stellar things. I never liked Tripler being pink….it looked silly. And, as the story that was prominent in the military goes, that was pink for a beautification project.

I see. There's also the Pink Palace and known as The Pink Princess of Waikikiat, The Royal Hawaiian Luxury Hotel. Triplet Hospital, can be seen easily.

@oahuwriter — the Royal Hawaiian is immortalized in Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi” (“they paved paradise, put up a parking lot with a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swinging hot spot”).
