A fisherman who was in a bay in the Whiskey Bay area in Louisiana is being credited for being at the right place at the right time on Friday daytime hours when a driver who was traveling east on Interstate 10 stopped his auto on the left side of the road to check up on what was the cause of his auto being stalled.
The driver of the stalled auto then had the bad luck of having his auto struck from behind by another auto that was traveling in the same direction hurling the driver that was working on his stalled auto into the bay near the Whiskey Bay exit.
The fisherman who catches crawfish as his source of income saw the man who fell into the bay struggling to stay afloat so he went over to where the accident victim was got him out of the bay into his boat until help arrived to take the driver to a local hospital.
The driver of the stalled auto as well as two other passengers inside the stalled auto were taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. All three of them are in serious condition but they are expected to recover from their injuries.
The driver of the auto that struck the stalled auto was also taken to a local hospital even though his condition was not mentioned.
My relatives and myself have traveled the area where the Atchafalaya Bridge is located where passes over a large body of water.
Having an auto get into an accident in that area where a rest stop is close is one of the dangerous areas to have an auto breakdown due to mechincal failures.
Maybe the fisherman is a Guardian Angel to motorists in Whiskey Bay and he will be rewarded by the authorities in Iberville Parish in the near future.

My pleasure to share it since my relatives and myself used to travel from Metairie to Lake Charles to visit relatives from time to time and it is a very long bridge that covers the bay area.

The fisherman really was in the right place in the right time since I am sure that he was the only one in the bay.

I have traveled with my relatives in that area where the bay is, I seldom if ever saw a fisherman in the bay when traveling in the area on the interstate.

That is a good question since I am sure that Whiskey Bay came from the persons who live in the bayou area liking whiskey as their drink of choice.
