Many notable spices are grown in Gujarat. The Fennel seed plantation in Gujarat near Gandhinagar is spread across large acres of agricultural land. Fennel seed is called mouri in bengali and is used as spice in many dishes including the dal or lentils which are consumed with rice. It adds taste in the food.

Some people here grow fennel in their gardens and use it in their cooking.
