Martin Roberts from Homes Under the Hammer, who I've mentioned before, has been over to the Poland/Ukraine border with supplies and things for the refugees. He posted his journey on his Twitter account @TVMartinRoberts and he posted this picture (above) of a little girl who had just come over from Ukraine into Poland, to which he gave the teddy she is holding. He started off on March 5 buying stuff from a shop and they would only let him have 2 bottles of Calpol even though he told them why he was buying it. 2 other customers who saw what was going on bought him another 2 bottles each! He offered to pay them for them but they refused to take it. In the video that he showed us on Twitter of him outside the shop he was in tears. Then he showed us him filling his van with stuff to take over. He introduced us to the charity he was helping to do it, and the distribution centre where they were sorting stuff out and packing it ready to go off to the Poland/Ukraine border. He showed us videos of him on every step of his journey, and included the picture above to show that the things he was taking over were getting to the people they were intended for. He also took over important stuff like heart monitors and baby monitors which were transferred to another van when he got to Poland, and they were going directly into the Ukraine for people who need them. At the end the last video he posted was of a guy at the Poland/Ukraine border with a piano, and he got him to play it. He played Imagine by John Lennon.

It's something you give to babies when they're sick. I don't know what it does exactly.

The people of the Ukraine and Poland need all of the help that they can get. Some Polish people are fleeing their homeland in order to allow for more Ukrainians to be able to live in Poland.

It's wonderful that people can help. It's Comic Relief night tonight. Some of the money they raise tonight will go to the Ukrainian refugees. I will go to the Oxfam shop today and get some red noses and badges.

Martin sounds a very nice man. I don't watch a lot of TV so hadn't heard of him before.

My pleasure. I'm glad you found it interesting and informative. If only we could do more. I'd like to take in a refugee but we can't because we have no room and as I still live with my parents it wouldn't be up to me anyway. But we can still pray and donate.
