On books, Beatles and my curiousity.

I didn’t grow up on the Beatles. In fact, I couldn’t have named one Beatles song if you put a gun to my head until recently. Honestly. My tastes is pretty much POP and foo and Chris Cornell. But, this particular author she always insert Beatles in her books, I noticed. Hehe I kinda can relate because people who knows me knows I'm pretty much a foo, a Cornell, a batman and a Tolkien. Hence, I also, consciously and subconsciously insert them in anything I do. And pretty much can get my 20 sec attention if one speaks about?? The Beatles were always this huge group that I just thought couldn’t be all that interesting if they were so popular. But, not interesting enough for me. Today, as I flipped on the pages of the 3rd book two Beatle song was referenced again. And I find myself listening to some of the music. I'm starting to discover how the Beatles had been a huge influence on much of the music/ books I was discovering and ??

The Beatles are from my era, they changed the world music in the sixties. I never liked them very much, but I liked some of their songs.

I was never fond of the Beatles as a group, but like some of the members better when they split.

My Mum was a huge Beatles fan. I think her favourite was Paul McCartney. She liked them when they had the shorter hair, she didn't like them when they went hippy. She had a few of their records and some fan club stuff that she sold once for pittance. The lady she sold them to didn't give her much for them because she said, well they're not very well known are they? WHAT? Where had that woman been living? The Beatles are the most famous band on the planet! When she told me I told her she shouldn't have sold them to her. She should have kept hold of them for a bit longer and then try to sell them at an auction where she'd have got more money for them.
