My friend Alejandra called me to applaud a story I wrote.

I was mylotting when the phone rang. It was Alejandra. She is starting a new literary workshop and wanted some stories. I had read some of Lili´s stories in Facebook and another one by another writer. I sent them to her. She called me reminding me that once she had asked me for any short story I had written that it was not too long. I told her that my short stories were always short. Over 20 pages were called a long novel by me So I sent her one last night. It was an act of love. The technician had placed some of my things hidden. Today she called me and told me that my short story was beautiful and moving. So sweet of her I had written that for my granddaughter Carolina when her brother was dying. We were all so dedicated to Tomás that she would have had a bad time if it wasn´t for the mother of one of her chums at school. Patricia "adopted" Carolina and until now, she is Claudia´s best friend. I now reread that story with the eyes of an outsider and saw that I had grasped part of the pain we all felt watching Tomás die and not deing able to do anything. Tomás would be almost 30 now had he lived. But for us, he will always be the beautiful 7 year old boy that we lost to cancer. The scar is there but I liked to share it with one of my closest friends and have her understand it.

I'm so glad you could send it to her. It's great when you can grasp the intense emotion of a situation like that. I'm sorry you lost him at such a young age to cancer.

I don´t think that one can really "move on" when those things happen. I call myself a survivor

@just4him Sometimes it is like I had lived two lives. One before and quite another after.

I am sorry of the loss of Tomas at age seven. That is nice of you to share a story with a close friend.

Although that story was inspired by my pain and loss, it is fiction.

Glad you sent her the story, Often times it is a gift of sorts when you can write a story that fully grips the emotions of the time when it all happened, So sorry you lost Thomas but his memory lives on through your story,

I'm sure your story was very moving. We lost an 8-year-old nephew to a brain tumour he wasn't our son. I'm so sorry.

He was my beautiful grandson. He did not reach his 8th birthday.
