Logan Sefried who is a ten year old girl was rewarded by the officials in Dayton Indiana this week when she had the courage of defending her older sister Tess when on February 3, the Pit Bull that her family owns attacked Tess for no reason at all. I know if I were in the position of Logan, I would be scared of trying to defend my older sister after their own Pit Bull bit her in the arms and legs. Logan was able to remain calm under pressure when her Pit Bull attacked her older sister by calling 911 to get a police officer to intervene. After Logan guided her older sister and the Pit Bull from the backyard of her parents home to a place near the door and she attempted to fight the dog who was attacking her older sister until a Dayton police officer managed to end the pit bull from attacking Tess. I do not know if the Pit Bull was put down by the police officer or not. I will say that I am impressed with the courage of Logan defending her sister from being attacked by their pet dog since not many of us want to be bitten by a dog much a Pit Bull animal who are really sweet dogs even though there are a few rotten apples in every bunch.

It was courage. From what I have heard, I would not have a pitbull around.

I would rather have a German Shepherd or a Beagle as a pet.

@Deepizzaguy My Luna is a German Shepherd. She is sweet. She would not harm anyone but I hope that burglars are afraid of her bark.

I know a few neighbors who have pitbulls and they seem to be wonderful dogs. But it all depends on how they were raised. They can be unpredictable from the stories I read, like this one.

I used to own a mixed breed Rottweiler and Black Labrador female dog was nice to me but when the mail carrier would come she would bark at him or her.

@CarolDM It was since my late dog Poochie did not like strangers coming to the house.

I suspect they put the dog down because it attacked the girl. I'm glad they rewarded her heroism.

I am sure that the dog was put down for the reason you mentioned. Logan deserves her reward from the city officials for her bravery.

I agree with you since Logan remained calm during the incident which is amazing for a child of her age to show maturity.
