Not a fan of Siri

So I ask Siri: Hey Siri, do I have any messages? and she tells me, You need to unlock your iPhone first. Then I ask her Hey Siri, do I have any missed calls? and she tells me, I can't help with that. There is an Open Phone button beneath that, which brings me to the screen where I enter my code to unlock my phone. I thought the whole point of asking Siri for these things was that I can find out this info without me doing anything. If I have to unlock my phone first I may as well just check my missed calls and messages myself without involving Siri in the first place. I guess that's done for security purposes, in case someone stole your phone or something. Still, I am not a fan of that.

Just for fun, I once asked Siri when my husband's birthday is and Siri's reply was something along the lines of "Who is your husband?"

Apple takes privacy and security seriously. It's one of the things they're known for. While it might be annoying, I don't see it's a problem. After all, (unless you try to tell it otherwise), it displays that info on your screen. So, if someone were to grab your phone, they could get possible, personal info.

@lovebuglena If you have face ID set up, you can do it a lot faster. Also, if you have an apple watch, you can bypass this entirely. Seri isn't the greatest voice assistant out there, and makes mistakes, but it does work.

@kaylachan I wonder what other things it can do for you aside from asking her for meaning of words or something else that requires Internet search?

@lovebuglena I use it to tell me the time sometimes, get the weather forcast, you can ask her to tell you a joke, or play a game, too. You can ask siri "what can you do?" and she'll tell you.

I've never had a Siri. Sorry to know it is not working as it should. Sounds dicey.

I don't use it often. Mostly, I use to if I wanna know the temperature or perhaps what time it is.

It's disappointing; but I'm sure it's for security.

I think so as well. But say I am cooking. Someone just called me and I can't pick up because my hands are dirty. I want to know who just called. So I ask Siri that. But since I need to enter my passcode she can't give me the answer.

It's very convenient, especially if it is a smartphone.
