We Made it to the Beach

Well, technically, we made it to the campground near the beach. Thanks to Daylight Savings Time (fingers crossed that it becomes permanent here in the US) we arrived while it was still light enough to set up easily. Once we were set up, we ordered our usual Friday night when camping at Carolina Beach dinner from Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn. The food is good and the servings are generous. We have enough leftovers for dinner tomorrow. Tomorrow, we will head down to the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area for a walk on the beach. Normally I would take my camera. Guess where it is. Yup, at home sitting in my writer's nook. The camera on my phone will have to do for this trip. I hope you all have a good weekend. This song tells my story.

It was warm, dry, and still light out. The exact opposite of what we had to deal with last week. Now, I'm ready for a day of coastal healing.

Taking a walk on the beach and wading in the surf was a great way to spend the last Saturday morning of winter.

Camping sounds like fun. My plan for next month is to take the ferry from Knotts island in VA Beach and cross the Currituck sound for an OBX adventure.

@DWDavis I see..I am sure you are probably closer to it then I am though. The tip there I think I can do in a day trip if necessary.

@snowy22315 We're about 3 hours from Nags Head. 2 hours is about the maximum I'll usually go for a weekend trip unless it's a special occasion.

Your plan sounds like a great time. We like the Outer Banks but it's so far to go that we save it for when we can plan at least a weeklong trip.

We had our first trip away for the year too. We free-camped at a tiny country hall and took photos at a horse endurance ride.

We had a great time this morning when we took the dogs to Fort Fisher Rec Area for a walk on the beach. They had a great time but are tuckered out now.
