What is amazing about this story is that a World War II bomber jacket that belonged to the late Miles F. Blum who flew B24 bombers with 40 missions in the European theater before the jacket was found in a restaurant in Tacoma Washington in the early 1950s by the uncle of Pat Nesbitt who gave his nephew the bomber jacket when Pat was around five years of age battling polio. Pat claims that by wearing the bomber jacket worn by Miles, it gave him the inspiration to recover from his illness since he was inspired by the stories of Miles who showed incredible courage flying inside of an airplane on bombing raids during World War II. Pat admitted that Miles was his superhero since when he wore the bomber jacket, it gave him powers like a superhero in battle like Superman's cape so to speak. After Pat took care of the jacket for many years, he wanted to locate the owner of the jacket who was Miles F. Blum when he saw his name inside of his jacket. With the help of his friend Jerry Ferguson to find the relatives to the late Miles Blum through Ancestry.com in February. They found out that Miles daughter Lori Sargent who lives in Bella Vista Arkansas to contact her that the bomber jacket that her dad lost in Tacoma is coming home. When Lori received the bomber jacket that was worn by her late dad who died when she was 14 years of age, she cried tears of joy when the jacket arrived in the mail recently since she believes that her late dad was the Guardian Angel of Pat when he was battling polio as a child. I have admired fighter pilots since it takes a lot of courage to fly an airplane during a bombing mission with a good chance that the pilot will not return home safe.

That's a really lovely 'good news' story. Thanks for sharing it. No wonder Lori cried when she received the jacket.

I know I would cry if a vest that belonged to my late dad who served in Guadacanal in 1942 with the U S Army would be returned.

That is true since a bomber jacket or my late dad's vest that he earned serving in the U S Army in Guadacanal are priceless items.
