Mount Umunhum is in the Santa Cruz Mountains and I can see it from my home. This is the Almaden Air Force Station, operational from 1958 to 1980.It has a radar tower on top of it called the Cube. It used to have a radar antenna on top and was used as an observatory until it was decommissioned. The tower had been in disrepair for many years, with paint and and the outside crumbling. However, a restoration project has been going on for a few years, and now the restoration is finished. It is sealed now but people can see it while hiking. It should remain in good condition for decades to come. This is part of the Azul Open Space Preserve.

But it is unique. Seeing it close up makes you realize how big it is.

@Aquitaine24 I researched , it is 125 ft. by 50 ft., no doubt that it is unique and no doubt that it is not pretty.

That's probably a good thing. Isn't it?
