It is the old Little women, with a very young Elizabeth Taylor as Amy. I always hated the Jo in that movie. When I read the book as a child I felt that Jo would have to be like me. But it wasn´t. The several movies they have done are not as good as the book. When I read again Little woman as an adult, I could see the way Americans lived in New England then. Have you read Little Women? Have you seen any of the films they have made? Which one did you prefer?

I loved that movie. I’d like to see it again. I didn’t like the remake at all.

It was the first book I read as a young lady. I identified with Jo. I have seen some of the films.

I identified with Jo too. That was why the worst character in those movies was Jo.

I actually remember this from High school The girls did not like the movie at all. Best class ever screen play literately can get a good grade just for watching movies. We never watched that one but was brought up in conversation of another movie. Now that movie I do not remember, maybe Mrs. Doubtfire. Had to be something like that. They did say the books are really good. I do not know how to read or write. So why am the few that actually got a B in the class and not a A and sure jumped my GPA. See, best class ever.

I was a bookworm at school. In fact, at one time I read a lot of books we were supposed to read (not all of them each of us) and summarized each book at recess for the rest of the class. I felt quite the heroine then

@marguicha Nice, school is so important we take it for granted. I used to get called like class expert and you know my punk rock tendencies took over. No excuses but I literally stopped being being smart because was putting a target on my back. It worked well people like oh you dumb I will leave you alone. Probably not the best way to handle life. Just punch those fools in the face metaphorically speaking of course.

I didn't read this novel. I watched Little Women as cartoon series when I was a child. When I grow up, I watched two versions of its movie and I prefer to the old version. It is like Anne's Diary, the black and white movie is very touching and far better than today's version.

I've read the book but not seen the films. I've also read the book 'March' which tells what the life of the father might have been like.

I´d love to read that book. But I have read biographies of L.M. Alcott.

What a coincidence! I was listening to a Christian program this morning and they were narrating the story of L.Alcott the author of " little Women". I had read the book many years ago and watched a couple versions of the movie. I did not know that Alcott was an army nurse.
