It's weekend again and I just finished trimming my aquarium again. This week it was water change and some trimming of the plants once more. I.just cut some parts of the plants that were not doing well and replanted those that were growing well. As an added plant I was able to get three lotus seeds and tried to let it germinate first. It took almost a week to see the first shoot coming out of the seed. Just in time for my maintenance day I placed them in my tank. It's not that visible yet in the picture but you can see the straight stem shooting out to tue surface. Well see in the coming days if it will shoot new leaves out.

Long time no see. Your aquarium still looks very beautiful no matter it is before or after trimming I am not sure whether you remember, I used fake plants/water grass and other decoration for my aquarium. It is easy for me to take care of it, and especially it also looks nice.

Yes I remember you. I was a plastic plants user before too. it is easier to maintain since no more trimming just clean the plastic plants and you are good to go with your decoration. But you won't see any change with it since it doesn't grow so I get a bit bored in time just cleaning them. With live plants, you are able to see them grow and let them thrive in your tank.

@youless Yes, I think my fish likes natural plants since they come to clean it themselves as well and they love to hide on it as well. What I really like about live plants is that you can re-scape them the way you want them to look. So, every time you trim them gives you an opportunity to make your tank look different every time.

I'm sure the fish would appreciate some new surroundings and plants.

Yeah seems like i am getting more interested with aquatic plants now than the fish. They seem more challenging to me than the fish .

@JudyEv True. They have their distinctive characteristics that needs a lot of attention. But fish are needed to be present in a tank since the make the tank alive.

@rsa101 Plants in an aquarium would be very interesting really, just on their own.

Yes, I don't use plastic plants in my tank. That's why they can grow or they melt in my tank.

The fishes are big and chubby now. Do they multiply? It seems your aquarium is big. It occupies many plants. Your aquarium relieves stress. Perhaps those fishes recognized you already.

Nope to many aquarist my tank is small just 10 gallon tank. My fish have breed and most of them are locally grown and just a few that I bought from pet shops.

Thanks, it took me some time before my plants grew that thick and green. I just need to trim them weekly since they will grow and crowd the whole tank.
