Beginners luck for a college student who won a lottery prize on her birthday

Talk about having beginners luck playing the lottery. A Clinton North Carolina resident named Laniah Ashley celebrated her 19th birthday by having a meal with her grandparents a Chinese restaurant. Laniah who is a freshman at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) then went to Han-Dee Hugos in Clinton when she saw the pretty images of the $20 dollar X100 The Cash scratch off ticket which she bought. Laniah was then shocked that the lottery ticket was worth $100,000 dollars when she returned to her grandparents home where she is staying while she is on a Spring Break vacation. Laniah who bought the winning lottery ticket on Wednesday then went to the North Carolina Lottery Office and after paying her taxes, she was paid 71,016 dollars. Laniah who is in college majoring in biology intends to use her lottery winnings to assist her grandparents and attend medical school. I have heard of the expression "There is a first for everything." In Laniah's case winning a huge lottery is an event that she will never forget.
