True crime writer Wylie Lark doesn't mind being snowed in at the isolated farmhouse where she's retreated to write her new book. A cozy fire, complete silence. It would be perfect, if not for the fact that decades earlier, at this very house, two people were murdered in cold blood and a girl disappeared without a trace. As the storm worsens, Wylie finds herself trapped inside the house, haunted by the secrets contained within its walls - haunted by secrets of her own. Then she discovers a small child in the snow just outside. After bringing the child inside for warmth and safety, she begins to search for answers. But soon it becomes clear that the farmhouse isn't as isolated as she thought, and someone is willing to do anything to find them. ~~~~ If you are looking for a good thriller... no, a GREAT thriller, look no further. This was an awesome story, wonderfully written, unique and definitely suspenseful. As seems to be the norm these days, there were a couple of different storylines - 3 actually. One was dated years before, one was current day, and one was a confusing little (yet disturbing) story written in a different font. But those 3 stories came together to form a surprising twist. Just when I thought I had it figured out, along came another twist. It wasn't what I thought. It was much more exciting and spine tingling. It's cliche to say it was a real page-turner that kept me up all night last night, but this is so true. I. COULD. NOT. PUT. THIS. BOOK. DOWN. I highly recommend this 5 star read.

Some books really get you in, don't they? My husband read till late last night then woke at 6 and started reading again. Thank goodness we're retired.

I was up until 3am. I don't have anywhere to go but because of sleep issues I can't sleep in too late. I'm tired.
