A small gator crashes a swim practice meet

The incident where a small three foot gator interrupted a practice session in Monteverde Florida about two weeks ago made the odd news stories which is interesting to know that a small gator somehow managed to get inside a swimming pool at Monteverde Academy.
My belief is that the swim coach contacted 911 to report the incident since for obvious reasons no one would dare enter a swimming pool with a live gator inside.
Lake County deputies Faust and Brownsberger answered the emergency call to get the small gator out of the swimming pool with Officer Brownsberger using a safety hook to bring the gator to the edge of the pool while Officer Faust grabbed the gator and taped his mouth shut with electric tape so the gator would be taken by the deputies to Lake Apopka where the electrical tape was removed from the gator's mouth and released to the water.
These stories are very odd since it is not everyday a gator enters a swimming pool at a private school and interrupts a practice session in the early morning.

Actually, here in Florida gators find their way into swimming pools all the time. What would be odd is if it was an indoor pool.

That would be huge odds against that event happening in an indoor arena.

That is true since the old saying goes "Expect the unexpected."

I agree with you since gators are not to be messed with.

I'm glad the gator was caught and released.
