Knowing you, knowing me, yes there are fruits from my country not found there, so also fruits there not found here. You told me before , there is no jackfruit in your country, while here so abundant. There are also vegetables from my country not found there but so abundant here, the Moringa veggie.
We also have seas anywhere in Philippines except those living far away like Bukidnon. There are mountainous places here, yet beside the sea , so knowing you, knowing me plays vital role in the kind of life we have-the adverse culture and more.
Now what about this fruit displayed in this post? I also want to know if there is LANZONES in your country? I mentioned in my previous post that Camiguin Island is home of the sweet lanzones . October 20- 27 is the LANZONES FESTIVAL in Camiguin Island. That is why , from October up to December our place is surrounded with fruit stands all on lanzones display. It is getting cheaper in December.
The funny thing in the buying of lanzones is taste first before pay
Like me, I consume 2 or 3 before paying, ABUSE? No, it's the seller who hands the fruits to taste first ..

I've never heard of Lanzones. We don't have them in my country. They look a bit like yellow grapes. What do they taste like?

@sharonelton, they are sweet and meaty. Grapes as small. lanzones bigger than grapes. There are also bitter those not grown from Camiguin. Sweet lanzones originate from Camiguin Island.

@cacay1 I see. Thank you very much for explaining about them. I think I'd prefer the ones from Camiguin Island.

You make my mouth water Erly. I miss lansones, jackfruit, moringa leaves and other veggies and fruits we have there. In my backyard in the Philippines, I have jackfruit tree, tambis, coconuts, cacao and bananas while in the front yard, I have carambola or star fruits, mangoes and other fruits. I am not there so my brother and his family and other sisters and nieces are enjoying the harvest there. I only get photos and videos of them eating my fruits

This fruit is originally from Malaysia and is now grown in all of South East Asia. It's not grown here in India but we do get them in exotic imported fruit section in stores. I have tried it a couple of times. It's delicious!!

@arunima25 , I do not know the number of years to wait. I will text my cousin in Camiguin as to how many years lanzones bears fruits.

@cacay1 I don't have the space. And it seems we need to wait for about 10 year to see the tree bear the fruit. Not sure if it will thrive here else they would have started planting it.

Sad that I didn't have much of the fruit when they were in season, wonder why the supply was limited.

@cacay1 Yes they were supposedly to be in season tnose months but last year supply was less. My officemate who has trees told me the harvest was so small and they can't even sell us some.

To me, they look alittle bit like lychee nuts. They do sell jackfruit here in certain stores, but I have only seen it like in the last 10 years. It isn't a usual item.

@cacay1 I have seen it canned, whole and in a sauce like barbecue.

@snowy22315, even here, we seldom find jackfruit. If there is it's so costly. One big jackfruit entire fruit costs P2, 500 pesos. It's really tasty delicious and yummy fruit.

Now I am not sure which I know I can find - jack fruit or durian (but one of them for sure). I know I asked someone here about moringa - I was not sure what that was either. What do lanzones taste like - does it taste similar to any of the common fruits we know? There must be an abundance when they are in season and probably so wonderfully sweet!

@acelawrites, maybe or might be the hot springs there or the forest. It could also be soil factor.
