I actually don't believe that arranging furniture based on feng shui will ward off bad luck. Although arranging furniture following t it gives a good arrangement and lay out and good flow. But its the aesthetic and not the beliefs actually that may cause me to follow it. Like, not hanging or placing mirror on a wall facing the door. But for me I don't mind if upon opening the door the first thing I see is a mirror and see myself.

Feng Shui is not about good luck or bad luck, I have been very interested by this ancient Chinese tradition. It is a practice which claims to use energy forces to harmonize people with the environment. It is very interesting.

So How do you achieve that harmony based on its beliefs. Because people usually tell me to arrange things or furniture at home. And i would usually say i just want a neat and organize house

@hotsummer - I arranged the garden according to the Feng Shui, we totally remodeled when we bought this house and now it is a lot more pleasant than it was before. I feel relaxed when I sit in the garden, while before it was not even pleasant to stay outside. The house must be neat so that you feel the harmony. Stuff in the middle of the room that obliges you to turn around is not good harmony. By the way do not call this SUPERSTITION, because it is not.

@LadyDuck the way you explain it is like things should flow together to create harmony. It does not seem different from interior design and landscaping

@hotsummer Indeed, I am not superstitious. I don't mind from which side a cat crosses the street infront of me, for example. I'll call it and when it comes to me, I stroke it.

I have not fully read it's teachings. Surprised to know that even the colors of walls is part of it.

@hotsummer Yes, we painted our house according to vastu shastra and Feng shui.

I read everything for knowledge and I respect the idea of feng shui even if I'm not an avid believer. I will place mirrors in inappropriate places and if there's a superstitious coincidence for why it's done, then so be it. I'll place it wherever I want to.

Yes if we don't believe then we won't be bothered. We should just ignore what others would say if they follow that belief
