An Epiphany

Years after I had left my daughter's father and she had been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder I was struck by an epiphany. I think her father had been Bipolar also. I recall his outlandish behavior and near-death experiences. I recall following his blood droplets to find him passed out on the bed. He burglarized a drugstore one time to get some amphetamines. He bought an odd-looking foreign make car with the intent of making it into a race car. It was set in my mom's yard for years. I found a razor laying on the floor after he had been depressed for days. He would just drop out of sight for days. Weird and now I know why.

It's a very crummy disease to have. Now, there are so many medications that help. Too bad about your ex. I hope your daughter is getting treatment.

She is. Took forever to find the right meds. That's is the real heartbreak of such disorders. Finding the right medication can take a while.

My eldest daughter has bipolar disorder but when she started having problems when she was a teen, there was no ailment such as that one.

It's changed a lot over the years. They just recently came out with a new book with all the disorders and such in it and there are a lot more than the original book had in it.
