No, not that Washington. The one we here in NC call Little Washington. It's a small city situated on the lower Pamlico River near the coast. My missus and I are camping here this weekend. Today we took a trip into town to visit the NC Estuarium. It is a small but very informative museum about the river estuaries in eastern NC. The photo is of the bear who has been traveling with us for years now. He joined us during a visit to Pigeon Forge, TN, several years ago. I decided he deserved a chance to get out of the truck and see some of the sites. Or is that sights? I'm not in a classroom, so I'm not going to worry about it. We were hoping for warmer weather, but it stayed cool and windy. We did find a place to eat outside as we had the dogs with us. The food was warm and tasted good, but we'd have much rather been able to eat indoors. Tonight, we're heading back to town without the dogs to have dinner with our camping club. This will give us a chance to try a different restaurant and eat inside where it will be warm. I hope y'all are having, have had, or will have a great weekend.

Sounds fun and the dogs got me, wish people were tolerant of them because they so energetic even at 8 but scare people so we kind of keep them hidden. So nice too, not like big Tristan but people always got a kick out of him in his old days when we traveled to Chicago, but Brooklyn always stole the show and Tristan was just fine with that. Little kids loved little Brookers, Have fun buddy and without dogs is good, a lot of work when they are. Everyone needs some fun time just for themselves.

@DWDavis Nice I always appreciated people that just said they make me smile. I was like they here for us did not think people would get such a kick out of them but cool. Its fun traveling where society brings my hopes back that maybe we still have a chance.

The dogs behaved very well even during the 15 minute movie before the tour. Some of the staff at the restaurant, including the owner, came over to pet them and tell them how good they were.

We are having a good weekend thank you, mainly doing jobs in the garden. But just reading your post really made me want to visit somewhere new!

Sometimes, even though I've lived on the NC Coast most of my life, I realize, like I did today, that there is a lot I have not seen right here in my own backyard.

So far so good. Wish it was warmer, though. We'd hoped to go kayaking.

@wolfgirl569 I intend to take him out for many more photo ops. He's considering a run for Congress in 2024. His slogan will be, "Vote for the Bearable Candidate, You know the rest of them are unbearable clowns."

Glad you got away and took the dogs along with you. It's too chilly to do much of anything except brisk morning walks here. Having a fabulous weekend here. My raised bed garden has been built and just waiting for the soil and finishing touches. Enjoy your dinner tonight!

May your garden produce many delightful things. Our dinner was delicious. Both K and I had the chicken kabobs. We didn't realize it was prom night at the local high school. What fun it was to see all the young men and ladies dressed in their finery.

@DianneN They used to be a staple when we went camping. It's time to bring them back.

@DWDavis I sure hope it produces something! What a fun time that must have been. Happy to hear. I should make kabobs. Haven't made them in years and love them.

Some of the smaller museums can be really informative and well laid out. I like your bear.

The Estuarium utilized its space very well. There were some younger children there with their parents, and they seemed really absorbed in some of the exhibits. It was great hearing the enthusiasm in their young voices.

The only complaint we have, and it's a minor one, is the wind. The constant breeze made it feel colder than we might have liked.
