Another Cat

I love cats. I love the way they move and their sweet faces. I also enjoy the purring. I watch every documentary and show that comes on about cats. It seems that each time I watch one I learn about another cat I wasn't aware of out there. This time it is the Caracal. A beautiful animal that looks rather like a thin mountain lion but with tufted ears. They are native to Africa, arid areas of Pakistan and northwestern India as well as the Middle East and Central Asia. They have a short faces with reddish tan or sandy coats. But, what really sets them apart is their strong back legs. They can leap 10 feet and catch birds in midair. Picture courtesy of dreamtime free images.

Caracals were one of my wife's favorite wild cats. They are beautiful and she just loved their tufted ears. I'm like you, I just love cats, it is why I ended up with so many of them. Now, however, I have to think about who will take care of them after I die... No, I'm not dying right now - don't worry about that, but I am 68 and will turn 69 this year.

@celticeagle I don't have any kids. My niece is violently allergic to cats. So is my sister's wife... granted my sister's wife is older than my brother, but I hope she lives a long time more, I think she's pretty great. I think my brother's wife is too...

I did not know about the caracal cat since the only time I have heard of the word caracal is the Australian show named "Caracal Agents."

What a coincidence. The Bing wallpaper of the day yesterday (I think) was three Caracals. Very beautiful cats. Thanks for the information.

I knew that was a caracal (the ears give it away).
