It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

The tornado sirens just shut down. They’ve been going for about an hour as tornado warnings have been issued around Louisville. Thankfully, my “tornado safe place” (see photo) went unused. However, a confirmed tornado touched down in another part of town. More precisely, right near the Putt Putt. On a normal Wednesday night in April we’d be playing. This wasn’t a normal Wednesday night in April. As far as I’ve heard there’s no immediate reports of injuries. I’m thankful the tornado safe place and bike helmet went unused here. But I am worried about my friends in other parts of the city. If you remember Joy Dorsey, a former myLotter who lives here in Louisville, I’ve heard from her and she’s fine. Wow, what a wild night!

I'm glad you didn't need your helmet and safe place.

@DaddyEvil — how are your plants? Did they survive the first cold so the forthcoming cold could hit ‘em?

When we heard about the threats there, I immediately thought of you and Joy. Thankful you're both safe, but sorry about the damage that was done near there. Before that I was actually going to message you and see if Joy was okay since I haven't seen anything from her in a while.

Thanks for your concern. The best thing that I heard was that there were no injuries. I know it’s a pain to have repairs done, but things can be repaired. Human life CAN’T be replaced.

@FourWalls That's so true even though it's heartbreaking when people lose everything.

Glad you were safe. We were supposed to get thunderstorms last night but I didn't hear a thing and the ground's not very wet this morning.

Thank you. I’m glad this three-day event is over for the U.S. I think, amid all the tornadoes reported, that I’ve heard of three deaths.

I’ve heard from Joy and my putting coach (he answered the phone when I called him, “Yes, we’re in the basement” ). The local news will be starting in a few minutes. I haven’t heard anything extensive on the police scanner, other than trees and power lines down.

My area in Lake Charles had to deal with a tornado watch but thank goodness there was a little bit of rain this evening.

I have dear friends near Alexandria, so I keep a close eye on Louisiana weather. So glad you’re safe as well.

@FourWalls Thank you for the kind comments. It did concern me when the weather programs on television mentioned tornado watches in the area.

I’ve heard from everyone I know who lives in the direct path of where it was, and they’re all okay as well. No electricity. The best news is no injuries, either!!!!
