So as I started seeing this dentist recently, (I have to travel 250 km from my village and take a hotel for every appointment) we finished with parodontite treatment and she's taking care of my cavities. I pay 50$ for every tooth she's fixing. She fixed 3 teeth last time (earlier this week) So now, I make sure to keep the teeth she already cleaned from cavities super white.. I brush my teeth before breakfast, after breakfast, after lunch and after dinner, plus I have to brush if I ever snack !! I never stopped myself from snacking or eating out but now that I know how much it costs to fix my teeth I'm way more careful.

As long as you don't starve yourself and are getting enough to eat. Be careful when brushing, there's such a thing as over doing it. To ensure your teeth stay clean, and you don't develop other problems, talk to your dentist about what she recommends. If you brush too often, you risk brushing away your enamel and weakening your teeth over time.

Oh I didn't know there's such thing as over brushing teeth !! Thank you for the warning, I should really ask how many times per day max.

@kaylachan @Babino My husband was a bit obsessed about cleaning too . . . to the point where the overbrushing made his gums sensitive too. Yes, be careful!

Be careful not to over-brush and always wait 10 minutes after eating before to brush.

@Babino You have to wait because there is more acidity in the mouth soon after you finish to eat. More acidity can cause teeth corrosion when you brush.

I understand. At this rate, you likely won't have money enough to buy snacks

I am very fortunate that I have never had a single cavity in my whole life. I am good about brushing my teeth and flossing daily, although I don’t brush after every meal. I do go to the dentist twice a year for a cleaning and checkup.

Twice a year that's awesome !!! I think I'm just scared it's like my head keeps telling me if I don't brush my teeth after every meal I'm going to have cavities right away..

I only brush during breakfast. I think staying away from sugary treats keep the teeth strong for a long time. I had one of my molar teeth removed due to cavity and from then on I haven't visited the dentist.
