"The Eyes of Tammy Faye" is a biographical drama which focuses on televangelists Tammy Faye Bakker and her husband, Jim Bakker, in the 1970s and 1980s. It stars Jessica Chastain as Tammy Faye and Andrew Garfield as Jim.
This couple started out with very little but wanted to bring the word of God to as many people as possible. They created the world's largest religious broadcasting network and theme park. The PTL Club program and the PTL Satellite Network brought God's message to the people and dollars to the organization for their various building projects, etc.
Tammy Faye was known for her makeup, eyelashes, singing and her belief that all people, regardless sexual orientation were God's children.
The media began to question the organization's spending and financial debt; and Jim ended up being jailed for fraud.
If you want to find out about the whole story, definitely check out this movie. Jessica Chastain won an Academy Award for her performance; and she definitely deserved it. She nailed Tammy Faye Bakker's mannerisms and speech. I give this movie a wholehearted "thumbs up".

I remember the stories of the Bakkers when the scandal broke out with the PTL acronym being used to mean "Pay The Lady". in reference to the late Jim Bakker's affair with a female person outside of his marriage.

@LindaOHio I do remember the scandals that brought down Jim Bakker's (RIP) ministry.

I remember her obnoxious makeup and the Bakker food buckets.

Yes, they did; but Tammy Faye really believed that all people were equal.
