Short Story: Numerology, and Prime numbers

Numbers often add up the way that we want them to add up.

The master numerologist, Horace Markor, was studying prime numbers. Prime numbers are numbers that have the property that they are only divisible by themselves, and the number 1. He was also looking at the lives of the great spiritual gurus, who lived throughout history. He noticed an interesting fact, about the dates that they were born. The renowned, Spiritual giant, Sri Aurogompto, for example, was born on the date of, 11/07/1931. Each of these numbers is a prime number. In fact, he has three prime numbers in his birthdate, a fairly rare occurrence, indeed. Most of us only have one prime number, or two, at most in our birthdates. Also, peculiar, was the fact that this great master died on the date, 29/07/1993, which also is made up of three prime numbers. When studying more of the dates of such great masters, he found that this same odd occurrence of prime numbers, figured in nearly all of the lives, of these greatest of spiritual masters too. His conclusion was that they had lived a life where the one had linked to the infinite. They were exclusively themselves only within God. They had mastered life in such a way, that they came, and left, still primed like this for God. Now, seeing patterns like this usually leads you to seeing truth, unless, the patterns are forced into being a pattern by your own mind, wanting to find just such a connection. Was this coincidence then, or something concrete, that the numerologist had found? Only he, in his own trade, could verify that with his testing of his theory, against the lives of non-spiritual giants too, to see if the opposite correlation run true too. He was so happy with his find though, that he believed the truth of what he had found, without verifying it any further. Most of us are like this. We do not do all of the leg-walk, once we have found a nugget of gold in our path. Maybe, it is just fool's gold, after all. That is the reason why math is really essential to people's life.

Yes. I have heard it said that God, is the penultimate mathematician. Maths pictures God's creation in a beautiful way. "Mathematics is the language in which God has written the Universe." Galileo Galilei, the Italian Astronomer, (1564 to 1642) said that.

I remember a story from my late mom who shared a story that the doctor told her when I was born that I was going to be a lucky child since my birthday is 07/07/1961.

Yes, the number 7, is a prime number, but the number 1961 is not, having factors of 37 x 53. Within the number 1961, both the number 19, and the number 61, are prime numbers, though. The number seven is regarded as being a lucky number though, and as you have two 7's, in your birthdate, perhaps, your mom thought that you would have twice the luck. "There is a strong connection between the number seven and many religions around the globe. Lucky number 7 is even the basis for many myths and folklore. Ancient beliefs from around the world believed that the seventh son of the seventh son would be gifted with magical powers (both good and evil)." Excerpted from this article:

We tend to lap up obediently without questioning what we want to believe. Then, can we blame others for taking advantage of our naivety? I am not an easy target for miracle purveyors.

@Shiva49 Yes, I took my closed-minded brother once to a psychic development class that I was attending. He refused to go along with the visualisation, and let it take him somewhere at its end. He just invented a story, of his own, made up, but which never happened to him there at all. With me, after the visualisation script ends, I go off on an adventure of my own, almost like a waking dream, into another world too, where the script had led me to, and it is exciting to explore it. The script is a sort of a key, and we need to take that key, and allow it to open the door of our mind, with it, for it to work. If we just leave the key in our pocket, without having a go at using it, nothing will happen for us there then, As you said, we need to cooperate a bit with the process, for the process to be kick-started within us. Sort of like priming the pump, as my Father used to say.

@innertalks Years ago, during my first job, a senior manager claimed to be a hypnotist. He chose me as the guinea pig to showcase his prowess. It went well though I might have played along a bit to start with!

@innertalks I heard it is tough to convince a skeptic. Maybe, we should be a bit more cooperative to go along their path like in the case of hypnosis sessions. However, no harm to experiencing such with eyes wide open rather than dismissing the "out of the world" experiences which can open a new path to understanding where we stand in the whole scheme of things with regard to creation and our role in it. A closed mind is akin to a "frog in the well" existence. .
