Today I see gardening in my future

Today I have plans to do lots of things outdoors. Not just because it’s spring here and therefore there are many gardening jobs to do - although of course it is, and there are - but because I seem to feel better outside.
Over the Easter break we got together with quite a number of people - visiting friends and family and attending events. Now I am paying the price because I have come down with a nasty cold.
I haven’t had a cold since 2019 so this is rather a shock! What started as a slight tickle in the throat has developed into a full-blown endless round of hot drinks, nose blowing (and visits to the toilet because of all the drinks) and a hacking cough. I was forced to get up far too early because I woke at dawn and then just couldn’t stop coughing.
The really odd thing is that the moment I go outside, the runny nose and the coughing just stop. Twice yesterday I went out, once for a walk in the woods, and once to walk over to a friend’s house to drop something off. Both times I was blowing my nose repeatedly before going, and I made sure I had plenty of tissues in my pocket when I set out, but I didn’t need any of them! I didn’t cough either.
Then this morning I have been coughing and coughing, but when I just went outside to fill up the bird feeders and see to my seedlings I didn’t cough once! As soon as I came back inside it started again.
So it seems I will be forced to spend as much time outside as possible today!

Do you have forced air heat in your house? It may be time to change the filter.
As for feeling better when outside, I'm like that too, as long as the sun is shining and it's not too cold. I plan to do a bunch of stuff outside today. How much I actually get done, is anybody's guess.
Enjoy your time outside.

@BarBaraPrz Yes that's right. But it was only on for a couple of hours a day and now we turned it off several weeks ago.

Sounds like it is not a cold. You must have an allergy to something inside your room.

@changjiangzhibin89 I did have the first night, my partner complained that just touching my foot in bed was enough to bring him out in a sweat!

No, there really isn't anything new here at all. Thankfully I'm much better today. As Little One suggested, I left the bedroom window open overnight and slept very well with no coughing or runny nose! Both have returned a bit since I got up, but still much better than yesterday : )
