That's why you don't see me on here much. I'm reading, reading, reading. If you could see the size of my piles of unread books you'd understand why.
I am a follower of author Brenda Novak so I just had to pick up this book. Her livestream book launch of this book is this coming Thursday so I had to read it before then.

Summer On The Island by Brenda Novak
Genre: Contemporary
After the death of her US senator father, Marlow Madsen travels to the small island off the coast of Florida, where she spent summers growing up, to help her mother settle the family estate. For Marlow, the trip is a chance to reconnect after too long apart. It's also the perfect escape to help her feel grounded again - one she's happy to share with friends Aida and Claire, who are hoping to hit reset on their lives too.
A leisurely beachfront summer promises the trio of women the opportunity to take deep healing breaths and explore new paths. But when her father's will reveals an earth-shattering secret that tarnishes his impeccable reputation and everything she thought she knew about her family, Marlow finds herself questioning her entire childhood - and aspects of her future. Fortunately, her friends, and the most unlikely love interest she could imagine, prove that happiness can be found no matter what - as long as the right people are on your side.

A cast of characters is important to note here. Marlow is a lawyer who recently closed her practice due to the stress of handling divorces. Aida is the friend whose divorce she settled. Dutton is her dirt bag husband. Claire is the woman Dutton had an affair with. She had no idea he was married and when she found out she went to Aida and they became friends. But Dutton won't let Claire go. What's a gal to do? Leave her friendship for a man who really only wants what HE wants?
Marlow's mother, Eileen, has MS. She has a live-in housekeeper, Rosemary, who has been with the family since long before Marlow's father passed away. Eileen is mourning the loss of her husband. Rosemary is struggling with the loss of her marriage and Rudy wants her back. He says he has cleaned up his act. Should she go back?
Walker and Reese are Rosemary's two sons who grew up with the Madsen family. Reese is living in the apartment over the garage at the summer home. Walker has his own place not far away. Marlow has always had a good relationship with Reese who is several years younger than her, but a not so great relationship with Walker.
Can you see where this is going? Not sure whether Brenda Novak intended for the big secret to be obvious but I figured it out easily enough. When this secret comes out it blows everything to heck and everyone is mad at everyone... for a brief period of time. Because a long period of time has passed and forgiveness can be gotten, or can it?
Check out the newest read from Brenda Novak. It's a great beach read.

I love the sound of this book, though sadly, I truly have no time to read or concentration to do so.
Thank you for the most excellent review as it allows me to sort of read the book in short.
