I can understand why an animal like a bear and a javelina when they see food inside of an auto that is open will yield to temptation and enter the open door of an auto and have a snack inside of the auto. A javelina in Cornville Arizona saw a snack of Cheetos inside of a Subaru hatch back that was wide open two weeks ago. Since the javelina must have been hungry, the animal decided to help himself or herself to the Cheetos bag that was open inside of the auto that was not occupied at the time. What happened next is that the hatch closed which trapped the javelina inside around midnight on April 6. The story begins to carry a bizarre part when the javelina managed to put the hatch back on neutral which caused the auto to drive down the road which attracted the attention of eyewitnesses in the area who called 911 to report the incident. Deputies of the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) managed to open up the door of the hatch back so that the javelina would leave the station wagon and run back to the wilderness safe and sound with a full belly of food. The deputies had a chat with the owner of the hatch back who admitted to the officer that the door was open in the back which was the reason the javelina entered the hatch back to help him or herself to a snack.

@RebeccasFarm According to the source a javelina is related to a hog.

I once read a story called "The three Javelinas" which was a Southwest spun version of the Three Little Pigs. The "bad guy" was a coyote.

I am glad that all ended so well but what I want to know is what was the owner thinking leaving his car open in the first place????

That's amazing that the javelina knocked the gear stick of the car into neutral. It seems the car wasn't too damaged.

That is true. I guess the owner of the car will now learn to lock up the auto from now on.

Keeping food in the car is never a good idea.
