Ncuti Gatwa is the Doctor.

The new Doctor in Doctor Who has been revealed. It is Ncuti Gatwa. (Pronounced Shooty). If you don't know who Ncuti Gatwa is, as I didn't, he's an actor who is best known for appearing in Sex Education. I found out this news when watching YouTube last night. Apparently the news was dropped by the Doctor Who Twitter account yesterday out of the blue. We were expecting an announcement soon, but people speculated it would be announced during half time at the FA Cup final or even during an interval during the Eurovision Song Contest or something like that. Not like this. This was very unexpected. There are rumours that this may have been announced now like this because it was going to be leaked and they wanted to get there first. But that's just speculation too. Do you watch Doctor Who? What do you think of this casting?

@sharonelton Thanks. Is it shown in the US? I don't remember seeing it recently. It USED to be shown here. I think we get the BBC.

I was very young in the 70's. I used to watch Tom Baker's Doctor. I'm old enough to have watched Jon Pertwee but maybe not old enough to remember him. I've got them all on DVD anyway.

I don't know this actor at all but he is very handsome. Our boys used to watch Dr Who but it never appealed to me.
